Introduction
Juice It Up! is a franchise-operated raw juice, smoothie and smoothie bowl bar that also offers healthy snacks. Most of their locations are in California. The accompanying app allows patrons to order ahead to nearby stores with cashless payments, earn points, redeem rewards, and purchase gift cards.
In this personal project, I aimed to revamp, refresh, and redesign the user interface while making the user experience more straightforward.
Analysis and Redesign
Main Page
Before
Issues:
Page does not allow for browsing without beginning an order and this is unclear
After picking an option (i.e. Locations) you are locked into that choice without easy change
Layout is not consistent with industry standard, may be confusing
Fixes:
Create clear displays of branding and offerings available with sections
Provide a search bar that allows for browsing before ordering/purchase
Clearly display reward points for ease of access
Give page general update for a more modern feel/experience
Drink Order Page
Issues:
Text is relatively small, may be difficult to read for some users
Can’t see anything else added to cart while ordering current item
While valued by users, may be an overwhelming amount of information at first glance
Fixes:
Enlarge text and modernize font choice
Add cart icon, maintain bottom bar with other options across pages
Put nutrition info and ordering changes into drop-down menus to give users a choice to read/change
Create icons for sizes and change the “+” in the prices to reflect prices instead of ‘additional cost’
Hamburger Menu/Settings Page
After
Issues:
In honesty, there are no glaring design issues with the first settings page. It functions its purpose, and has the information that it should have. I wanted to update this page in order to make it fit better with the other two I created.
Changes:
Menu now slides out from left side, after clicking hamburger menu
Profile section and edits are more obvious and highlighted
Support interactions are grouped at the bottom
All items are left aligned for continuity
