Reimagining how students explore educational futures

TIMELINE
February 13th - March 23, 2026
PLATFORM
Figma, Unity, (quiz platform)
MY ROLE
Product and Usability Researcher
*Some elements of this concept are intentionally presented at a high level to protect the integrity of the idea.
THE PROBLEM:
STUDENTS STRUGGLE TO PICK THEIR PATH.
of STEM students will change their major at least once, committing without understanding what it involves
in added tuition per major change plus a potential delay of a semester or more
WHAT'S BROKEN
STUDENTS COMMIT WITHOUT EXPERIENCING →
O1
Static & Generic Information
Program websites and brochures are often dense, repetitive, and fail to clearly communicate what students will actually do in a major
O2
Lack of Real Experience
Campus tours and virtual tours show physical spaces, but don’t reflect day-to-day academic life, projects, or student experiences
O3
Overwhelming Choice Without Guidance
Students are expected to choose from 100+ programs with little personalized direction, leading to confusion and decision fatigue
OUR SOLUTION
LET THEM EXPERIENCE THEIR PROSPECTIVE MAJOR
Project Trajectory is a two-part platform - a personalized quiz that matches students to programs based on their actual interests, paired with immersive tours that guide them through available programs at the selected institution.
OUR PROCESS
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Personalized Quiz
Users start with a quiz which Identifies programs aligned with their strengths, interests and career goals
Immersive Exploration
Then, users are able to virtually step inside departments, explore labs, and see day-to-day life before committing to a four-year program
Companion App
Features including AR walkthroughs and saved quiz results available 24/7 remove locational or time barriers

"I wish I had this when I was going to school, it really would have helped me narrow down my options - I might not have even completed the major I did!"
